Case Study Overview
In April of 2019, we started performance improvements on one of our client’s WordPress websites. This website was an e-commerce membership website hosted in the Netherlands. Our main goal was to improve the loading time for their customers and subscribers in North America and Australia.
Over the next few weeks in a series of blog posts, we will be breaking down the changes and tweaks that brought the homepage loading time down from 10 seconds to 2 seconds.
Wordcamp Presentation Slides
Kim presented this case study for the first time at Wordcamp Port Macquarie. So to kick things off, we thought we would start by sharing a copy of her PowerPoint from the event. These slides will give you a general overview of the topics we will covering over the coming weeks.
From 10 Seconds to 2 – Presentation Description
What’s the best way to tackle the list of recommendations from GTMetrix, PageSpeed, and YSlow? How do you get the most out of your caching plugin? What can do you to shave off those last few milliseconds?
This presentation presents a detailed, real-life case study on website performance. Going through changes we made to one of our client’s WordPress websites, we cover a wide range of topics including: performance testing, webfonts, caching, lazy loading, minification & concatenation, CDNs, DNS, and resource hints!
The presentation was recorded for and will soon be available on WordPress.Tv. Once the video is available online, we will update this post. Stay Tuned!
